Colonoscopy Research Sweden (CRS)
Colonoscopy plays a central role in the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of colorectal diseases, making continuous research, quality improvement, and innovation essential. Until recently, Sweden lacked a coordinated national strategy for colonoscopy research despite having world-leading clinical expertise and a strong tradition of population-based studies.

To address this, the Endoscopy Committee of the Swedish Gastroenterological Association initiated the formation of a dedicated national research group in 2023. The goal was to strengthen collaboration, increase research quality and volume, and position Sweden as a key contributor to international colonoscopy research.
